The Eco Market – Wednesdays

This Wednesday Night market, founded in 2011, runs from May through August, 4 pm to 8 pm. The eco market started with a commitment of showcasing local artists as well as promoting eco-education. This small market grew into a movement offering local sustainable products and services set up for the customers’ convenience.

In 2012, the City of Chilliwack offered use of Sardis Park. Many local farmers were participating in Farmer’s Markets in Vancouver but were not offering their goods to local customers. A move to Wednesdays allowed the vendors  to reach their community and still be available for larger weekend events.The balance has been a success and the eco market has continued to grow from a small 8 vendor market to over 30 casual and seasonal vendors.
