(Abbotsford, BC) At the direction of the BC Government, the Fraser Valley Trade & Exhibition Centre (Tradex) is announcing the postponement of any immediate events over 250 people.

As we are not certain how long this direction from the government will be in place, for now, the events we are announcing are impacted are the BC Health & Wellness Show (March 14-15), Creativ Festival (March 27-28), Canadian Metal Working (April 2), and Olde Farmhouse Vintage Market (April 4-5). We are currently working with these event organizers in an attempt to reschedule and will update as quickly as possible.

While Canadians are fortunate that the public health risk associated with COVID-19 remains low, it is imperative that the health and safety of all Tradex guests, team members, partners, and residents of the Fraser Valley region remain the highest priority.

“Mindful of our duty of care, we will continue to work closely with our industry partners to monitor developments, and are regularly reviewing updates from provincial, federal, and global health authorities. We are working with our impacted clients to find workable dates for their events for later in the year,” says Brad Styba, Managing Director of Business Development for Tradex.

Craig Nichols, Executive Director of Tourism Abbotsford, which operates Tradex, states that “The Tradex team remains proactive and hyper-vigilant in our approach to safety. We are in regular contact with Destination BC and our local tourism partners and will be doing all we can to prepare to welcome back crowds when we are able to again host large gatherings.”
