Approximately 103 Canadians flew in the Battle of Britain between July and October, 1940. This crucial turning point in Second World War was described by Sir Winston Churchill as ‘their finest hour.’ Every year in Sepmteber, members of the 879 (earl MacLeod) RCAF Wing, gather with other veterans and members of the public to remember those that paid the supreme sacrifice and to honor all Britons who never gave up.
