On October 25th at approximately 2:20pm, the Chilliwack Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire in the 44000 block of Vedder Mountain Road. Approximately 20 Firefighters from Halls 1, 3, 4 and 6 responded to the scene and discovered heavy flames and black smoke coming from a single storey commercial building. Fire crews established a water supply from a nearby hydrant and were quickly able to contain and extinguish the fire.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported and the building sustained heavy fire, smoke and water damage.

This fire is considered to be suspicious in nature and is under investigation by Chilliwack Fire officials and the RCMP.
