AbbyPD investigating fatal collision involving pedestrian

 

This morning at 7:11 am, Abbotsford Emergency Services responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in the 31800 blk South Fraser Way.

Upon arrival, emergency service workers located a 37-year-old man who had been struck by a vehicle and sustained fatal injuries.

The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with this investigation. The driver did not sustain any injuries and is very shaken by this incident.

The Integrated Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team, police investigators and the B.C. Coroners Service continue their investigation this morning. South Fraser Way is currently closed between Countess Street and Center Street. AbbyPD will provide an update on our social media once the roads re-open.

Several witnesses have been interviewed; but investigators ask that if you have CCTV footage, dashcam footage or witnessed this incident, please call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225.
