Today we have two very cute Guinea Pigs.

Meet Bonnie (dark grey) and Beth (Tri-Colour ). These two girls were left in a Downtown Chilliwack park, in their cage with no food or water. Luckily, a good Samaritan found them and brought them to the Chilliwack SPCA.  Bonnie and Beth are bonded and must be adopted together. They are  in very good shape, generally healthy. Bonnie is very outgoing and well socialized. Beth is a little shy and will sometimes run away, however she will come to you for some tasty greens.

Guinea pigs are very easy keepers and make great pets for any type of household.  At this time, the shelter crew is working on litter box training, which is going really well. Guinea pigs require a small amount of pellets everyday, fresh water, greens and lots of hay.  They should have enough hay to be able to nibble on it all day long as a guinea pig’s diet should consist of 80% hay. Hay is one of the most vital parts of their diet, and there is no substitute for the same.
