Mounties pitching tickets to three strike motorists’ #frontlinepolicing

RCMP frontline traffic section officers supported by Chilliwack Speed Watch conducted ‘three strike’ enhanced traffic enforcement near Yarrow as police target speeding drivers.

The operation conducted April 18, 2019 in the 43000-block of Vedder Mountain Road provided opportunities for motorists traveling above speed limits to slow down. Drivers who ignored speed limit signage – strike one- their speed posted roadside by Chilliwack Speed Watch -strike two- were stopped by Chilliwack Traffic Section frontline officers, strike three.

“Traffic enforcement is not limited to speeding drivers,” warns Corporal Mike Pfeifer of the Chilliwack RCMP. “Unsafe driving behaviour and commercial vehicles will also be part of our focus.”

In partnership with The City of Chilliwack Safer City drivers impacting the safety of the travelling public within the community will be the object of enhanced enforcement by Chilliwack RCMP.

“Road safety is a priority of the Chilliwack RCMP and the city,” says Corporal Mike Rail spokesperson for the UFVRD. “We are listening to road safety concerns folks are raising and take those concerns seriously.”
