Chilliwack:  RCMP are seeking witnesses as police investigate a collision involving a pedestrian which occurred yesterday on Vedder Road.

 

Chilliwack RCMP received a report on March 27, 2018 at approximately 3:45 pm that an automobile had collided with a power pole and a pedestrian on Vedder Road near Thomas Road.

 

Chilliwack General Duty and Traffic Section officers immediately arrived at the site where they located the alleged driver and a pedestrian suffering serious injuries being tended by BC Ambulance and Chilliwack Fire Department first responders.  Both individuals were transported to hospital by BC Ambulance.

 

The area surrounding the site remained cordoned off by police while officers from Chilliwack Traffic Section supported by the Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) gathered evidence during their thorough examination of the scene.

 

“As the RCMP investigation continues we are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact Chilliwack Traffic Section,” says Corporal Mike Rail spokesperson of the UFVRD.
