The Chilliwack SPCA is looking for a foster home for the holidays for 9 month old Quantum.  He is a boxer doberman cross. Quantum is being treated for demodectic mange which is a skin condition that is not contagious to people or other animals. His immune system is likely low due to the severity of the condition so getting him into a foster home will help him recover much quicker than being in the shelter. The foster could be one to two months long.

A foster home must be able to take Quantum for follow up vet appointment.  He has some anxiety in the shelter environment but is very sweet and loving.  He is young and energetic despite his cone.  At 9 months of age, Quantum needs some work on basic obedience and socialization although he seems to have good behaviours around other dogs.

Quantum is good with other dogs but gets overly excited around cats so a home without cats for him to pester would be best. He has been fine around older children but will bowl over young kids.   Quantum rides well in the vehicle, and is house trained.

Anyone who is interested in providing a foster home for Quantum while he is receiving treatment for his skin condition, ?should contact the SPCA branch at 604-823-2213 or email: chilliwack@spca.bc.ca
