As a child you probably gathered around a darkened living room to look at your Grandparent’s slides from their vacation. Let’s keep the tradition alive, shall we? I promise to poke you before the lights come up so no one catches you sleeping. 😉

Our family vacation was a big one this year! Usually we go camping…but this time we took entirely too much luggage and got on a plane headed for the Maritimes. Our kiddo had never been on a plane before, so it was all very exciting.

We have been blessed to make a close connection with our Chief billet and his family. Our kiddo enjoyed working up a sweat at hockey camp in Charlottetown PEI and touring around in the evenings our first week away. The boys indulged me with a visit to the Anne of Green Gables Historic Site.

We wrapped up our visit in the Acadian Peninsula of New Brunswick. We saw as much as we could…visiting the Miscou Island Lighthouse, Miscou Island Peat Bog Boardwalk, Luc Bourdon memorial, the Acadian Village, Chocolate River in Moncton and the RCMP Memorial in Moncton.

Honestly,my iPhone pictures don’t do justice to the amazing scenery. The people are warm and welcoming and the landscape is very different from here. We look forward to returning one day and hope you can get there too.

OK…nudge nudge…wake up, the lights are turning on.
