Operation Reveal'ution tackles the issue of relationship violence

The Abbotsford Police Domestic Violence Unit has created a new awareness and prevention film, this time covering the issue of Relationship Violence among young people. Cst. Ian MacDonald says it’s a pressing issue in highschools all over….and it’s not just physical violence.

“There are a lot of other layers to relationship violence….maybe some of those layers exist in the secondary school with teens and youth that maybe aren’t prevalent when you get into different age categories.  Some of the coercion that you would see shared through text messages….there’s a lot of high profile incidents where there are threats of sharing pictures.”

The film is called “Operation Reveal’ution” and stars drama students from WJ Mouat. The film was premiered at Mouat this morning, and will be available online, and used for presentations at other schools in the district.
