hot-weather-3Temperature records continue to fall in the Fraser Valley, and drought conditions wear on.
This morning it was 20 degrees in Chilliwack, breaking the record high minimum of 16.6 set in 2003.
On Saturday, the official high was 34.8, becoming the 40th high temperature record broken in Chilliwack so far this year!  It officially topped 39 degrees in Lytton.
According to local weather data tracker Roger Pannett this is easily the hottest June in Chilliwack in 120 years with mean temperatures 4 degrees above normal, and it might also end up being the driest on record. The previous record for least amount of rainfall was 12.7mm set back in 1965. Even after the 0.4mm we’ve receieved in the past 24 hours, we’re still sitting at only 8.5mm, and after today there is no more rain in the forseeable future.
Also, despite the cloud cover today, the humidity is at 89% this morning, making for extremely muggy conditions.
