Dawn-of-The-Planet-of-The-Apes-DOTPOTA-Wallpaper“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” was one of the highest grossing movies of 2014. Another sequel is planned, and this time Ceasar and the rest of the apes could be roaming the woods around Chilliwack. Councilor Sam Waddington says film scouts are in town.

“There is some interest in some location scouting for Planet of the Apes 3 for Chilliwack.  They’re looking at our beautiful back country and hoping to find some stuff that’s unique here.  They’re looking at the Fraser Valley as an option instead of the Sea to Sky corridor for their film shoots for this one.”

The third installment of the popular franchise reboot is already in the works and scheduled to be released in 2017.

Meantime, Councilor Jason Lum is reminding folks about the filming currently going on downtown for a Hallmark movie.

“It’s important to note that this is a production company that has been in Chilliwack before, and are coming back because of the great response they had previously.  It speaks to the great work of the local Film Commission, and the importance of film in Chilliwack and to the economy.”

“With this Ring” was filming yesterday and again today.
