Chilliwack ChiefsSixty young junior prospects will hit the ice this weekend for the Chilliwack Chiefs spring camp.

Coach Jason Tatarnic says the spring camp is pretty important to building the roster.

“Last year we picked a number of our players from that spring camp, I think about seven or eight players made our team from that camp. What we try to do with that camp is identify guys who can play for us this year and then some younger players that we want to bring to the main camp.”

Tatarnic says they only have a handful of returning forwards from last season’s squad so there will be plenty of openings.

The camp starts Friday evening and runs through till Sunday.
