Dangerous Sex Offender Wanted on Canada Wide Warrant
Abbotsford – August 6, 2010
Abbotsford Police are looking to locate Dale Edward KOENDERS after a series of possible sightings of this dangerous offender in Abbotsford over the last week. The most recent sighting was in the area of the 32500 block of South Fraser Way on August 5th around 4:30 pm.
KOENDERS is a white male, 5’11” tall, 185 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. He is presently wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant. KOENDERS’ criminal history includes the use of a weapon during the commission of a sexual assault.
KOENDERS is a Dangerous Offender serving an indeterminate sentence. He was last seen on July 7, 2010 and continues to be UAL from Chilliwack Community Corrections Center (CCC) where he was residing on Day Parole. Warrants for his arrest were issued on July 8, 2010. He was last seen on July 7, 2010.
KOENDERS should not be approached. Contact police immediately if you observe him.

-RCMP say single vehicle accident in Chilliwack yesterday happened near a school and are reminding drivers to slow down, especially in 30km zones with school fast approaching. A 25 yr old man was taken to hospital with serious, but not life threatning injuries.
-One man killed and 3 people in custody after an early morning incident in Surrey, in which shots were fired at police.
-3 Metro Vancouver mayors head to Victoria tommorrow to deliver waste to energy proposal to Environment Ministry.
-29 charges laid against 4 people and 2 companies in connection to the deaths of 3 Langley mushroom farm workers in 2008.
-25 yr old man not hurt after flipping a diesel truck on Hwy 1 at 248th on Monday that closed the freeway EB for 6 hours.

-Thanks to a 911 caller, a 12 yr old Chilliwack boy is back home safe after an amber alert was issued on Sunday. The father allegedly broke into his grandparents home and took Daniel Sturm...they were later found at a gas station in Langley, where the father was arrested.
-RCMP have decided to suspend the search for missing hiker, 35 yr old Tyler Wright, who left Squamish on a 5 day solo hike on August 10th.
-Friends of the Chilliwack River Valley will have the opportunity to speak to the Cohen Commission when it comes to Chilliwack on Sept 29th, and hope to highlight the issue of gravel mining and how it can impact the salmon.

-54 yr old Greg Wright of Chilliwack identified as the victim of the fatal truck accident at the Vedder Canal on Tuesday. Wright leaves behind a wife and 4 young children. Memorial service to be held Sunday at 2pm at the Best Western truck stop.
-Chilliwack RCMP warning fishermen to be alert, after a number of them have come close to being hit by cars as they park on the side of the road near rivers.

-Chilliwack RCMP looking for 3 jewel thieves after the Peoples Jewellers in Cottonwood Mall was robbed yesterday morning around 11. 2 of the men are white, the other is Asian.
-279 forest fires burning across the province right now, and fire officials are concerned that the forecast over the next couple days is for cooler temperatures and more wind, with no rain.
-Loblaw warning customers about Presidents Choice brand Decadent Chocolate Chunk cookies, sold at Real Canadian Superstore, which may contain small pieces of metal. Bags have been pulled from store shelves, and a refund will be provided if the product is returned.

-Another death on BC's waters.
The body of Kevin Andrews was found about five km north of the Fraser River Bridge in Hope.
The 41 year old Hope man was fishing last Sunday near the Saddlerock area when he slipped and fell into the river.
-The Abbotsford Campus of Care has moved one step closer to reality. The City has signed a lease with the Abbotsford Hospice Society, Canuck Place, and Matthew's House. Construction on Canuck Place starts this November, Matthew's Place next year, and the Abbotsford Hospice in about two and a half years.
-An american sex offender wanted in California and BC turned himself in to Abbotsford Police yesterday. According to police Andrew Huggins turned himself in because of the attention focussed on him through the media. He was wanted in California for violating conditions and up here for production of a controlled substance.
-Abbotsford police have arrested a man who was on a practicum in an Abbotsford high school for having an inappropriate relationship with a 15 year old girl. Police allege Brian Davis made friends with the girl and kept in touch with her through social networking sites and text messages. Davis was then allegedly with her physically on April 3rd. He's been charged with sexual interference.
August 12
-A 32 year old man from Chilliwack has died at Harrison Lake.
He and two others were fishing on the lake Monday when their boat capsized.
While they swam towards Echo Island the man became unresponsive and had to be pulled to shore.
All three were wearing life jackets, police are waiting for the results of an autopsy to determine cause of death.
-Be on the lookout for a man wanted in California and BC who was seen in the downtown core in Abbotsford over the last month.
Adam Huggins is a registered sex offender in California and is wanted for violating conditions down there.
He's also wanted in BC for production of a controlled substance.
He has a violent criminal history that includes robbery, assault, and sex offences involving children.
He's white, , 5'11" tall, 220 pounds, with blonde and grey hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos on his stomach, back, chest and arms.
-According to Environment minister Barry Penner the southern part of the province is in decent shape for water supply compared to the rest of the province. However he says without the wet June we'd be facing some water supply issues. He says he's expecting river levels to drop if we don't get more rain in the next month or two.

Vice president academic Eric Davis says it's great having a high demand for post secondary education in the Valley but it means they don't have enough space for everyone
-A 24 year old Hope woman was killed Monday evening in a single vehicle accident on Highway one
She was a passenger in a car that went off the road and down an embankment near Lake of the Woods.
RCMP say alcohol was a factor and charges are pending against the 23 year old driver.
