Bike to Work & School Week runs May 29 – June 4 this year throughout the entire province.

Last year 37,000 participants cycled during the event, province-wide, and saved more than 290,000 kg’s of Greenhouse Gases from entering our atmosphere in just one week! Commuting to work is one of the biggest causes of car emissions and choosing to cycle instead, even for part of the time during the year will have dramatic results! Moreover, there are numerous health benefits that stem from using your commute time as a time to exercise and de-stress! Our goal with this event is to get as MANY Fraser Valley residents as we can to try biking to work and school at least once. The premise is that once people try cycling to commute, they start to realize that they CAN do it and that most people even enjoy it! As part of our campaign, we also encourage people to try cycling instead of driving as they go to the gym, meet friends for coffee, or to do anything else that they would normally use a vehicle for commuting.
