Bridal Falls Waterpark

Envision Coffee House Concert Series

The Envision Coffee House Concert Series enriches community life in Abbotsford by providing high-quality, free entertainment in a friendly and informal atmosphere, while providing opportunities and encouragement for local musicians.  The concert series will be running April 5th to June 28th and again September 6th to November 29th from 8pm to 10pm at various coffee houses around Abbotsford.

Philosophers Cafe Discussion Groups

Hope and District Arts Council is partnering with the Blue Moose Cafe to put on philosophers cafe discussion groups.  Everyone is welcome to join for stimulating discussions on interesting and diverse topics in a warm and friendly atmosphere.  The group will meet the third Thursday of every month, from 7 to 9pm at the Blue Moose Coffee House, 322 Wallace St. in downtown Hope. 

Media Camp Day

The Salvation Army invites you to test your camp skills and learn about our camp programs for at-risk children on May 21st from 11am - 12:30pm at Lacarno Beach in Vancouver.  Across Canada kids come alive at our summer camps.  Last year over 8,000 children from disadvantaged homes experienced life at its best and learned the values of friendship and caring.  The Salvation Army BC offers an unforgettable, life-changing experience at Camp Sunrise in Gibsons and Camp Mountainview in Houston, BC.  Kids age 7-12 years old enjoy canoeing, swimming, archery, sports, crafts, repelling and songs around the camp fire!

Reality of Crime in Mission Series

The Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the "Reality of Crime in Mission" event series.  The series will kick off on Tuesday, April 29th with a controversial yet thought provoking presentation from Dr. Gabor Mate who is a staff physician at the Portland Hotel, a residence and resource centre for the people of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside.  May 6th will feature Mission RCMP Inspector Pat Walsh and Rehabilitated Career Criminal Addict Stan Mingo.  It will culminate on May 22nd with a panel discussion between all relevant organizations in Mission that have a stake and/or responsibility in addressing crime and addiction in the community.  Each organization will speak about their organization and identify their role in crime prevention within the community after which, audience members will be able to ask their questions and voice their opinions to the panel and community.  Each of the events in the series will take place at the Bellevue Hotel from 6:00pm – 8:00pm and the cost to attend on April 29th and May 22nd will be $10 for Chamber members and $15 for non-members with appetizers provided. For the event with Inspector Pat Walsh and Stan Mingo on May 6th, a dinner will be included in your registration fee of $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Registration is definitely required. The Call to Dance V1 - A Celtic Celebration

The Fraser Valley Dance Association is proud to present A Celtic Celebration at the Clarke Foundation Theatre in Mission at 7:00 pm on May 24th.  This is a top quality evening of Irish step dancing and Celtic music.  Each number is an original choreography, designed by Michelle Kilby of the Sionnaine Irish Dance Academy.  Tickets are $15 each.

Chilliwack Community for Kids Annual Golfing for Kids Tournament

On May 24th Come join the fun – Foursomes and sponsorship opportunities available!!  Each year at Aquadel Golf Course the Chilliwack Community for Kids Committee organizes a fun, non-competitive tournament to raise funds for BC Children’s Hospital. "The Nightingales" Fundraising Events

Relay for Life Fundraiser at Scotiabank

We are holding a garage sale and hot dog sale in the parking lot at Scotiabank Sardis (Promontory & Vedder) on Saturday, May 24th from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.  All funds will be going to our Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life, team "Spirit for Life"

Hike for Hospice

Fraser Canyon Hospice Society is holding their 3rd annual Hike for Hospice on Sunday, May 25th at Memorial Park in Hope.  This is an easy 2km or 5km walk around Hope. Admission is $10 or family rate of $25.  These cover the costs of a t-shirt for each participant.  The walk raises funds to support Camp Skylark.  It is a weekend camp at no cost for 25 children from throughout the lower mainland who are suffering a loss of a loved one and are in grief.  It is held in September at Camp Squeah.

Look Good, Feel Great!

On Sunday, May 25th from 11am - 4pm Look Good, Feel Great at The Rancho (35110 Delair Road) in Abbotsford.  This is an event helping women living with cancer - spend an afternoon of pampering, relaxation, snacks and prizes and take time to appreciate the beautiful woman that you are!  Featuring makeovers, nail technicians, massage therapy, entertainment, pharmacist consultations, wig and hair specialists, dieticians, refreshments and gifts.  Support people are welcome to join in.  Donations to the BC Cancer Society are greatly appreciated but not expected and no admission fee is required.  For more information contact the Cosmetics Department at Shoppers Drug Mart in Sevenoaks Mall 604.853.9481 or email lookgood2008@hotmail.com

Relay for Life

Relay for life will be taking place in Chilliwack at 7pm May 30th to 7am May 31st at Chilliwack Senior Secondary, it will also be happening in Abbotsford 7pm June 20th to 7am June 21st at Rotary Stadium.
The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to get together with family and friends and celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back against this disease. Walk with us in this inspirational 12 hour event as we come together to raise funds and make cancer history. Your participation makes a difference. What makes Relay For Life so special? Scrapbooking & Small Home Based Business Fair

On Saturday, May 31st, 9am-1pm stop by the Scrapboking  & Small Home Based Business Fair at St. Paul's Luthern Church (8871 School Street) in Chilliwack.  There will be refreshments as well as tables from Creative Memories, Stampin Up, Close to my Heart Scrapbooking, Partylite, 5th Avenue Jewlery, Handmade Cards, Avon, Italian Photo Charms, Colourific, Mary Kay, Pampered Chef, Epicure Selections, ThunderPeeps Designs, body casting and more!  Admission is $2 at the door and kids are free.  Proceeds from this event go towards Kids Time Out Preschool at St. Paul's Luthern Church.

Mountie Stomp!

The Chilliwack YMCA is proud to be hosting its first annual "Healthy Kids Day"  June 1st from 10 am - 3 pm at the Chilliwack Family YMCA (Hocking Ave).  This is a free community event celebrating the healthy growth and development of children and families.

Abbotsford Run for Water

On June 1st, Abbotsford will be challenged to participate in the inaugural Run for Water at Centennial Park surrounding Mill Lake. The ½ marathon and 10 km distances promise to be high caliber races with chip timing and well-controlled courses featuring some of Abbotsford’s most scenic vistas.  The 5 km Fun Run is a family oriented event that will allow people of all ages and abilities to participate.  There will also be a post-race concert by Canadian Idol finalist Greg Neufeld, in addition to hosting Wally Buono and a few BC Lions players (the Lions open training camp in Abbotsford that day too).

Sun Life Construction Crew's 2nd Annual Golf Tournament for Habitat for Humanity

On Friday, June 13th the Sun Life Construction Crew will be holding their 2nd Annual Golf Tournament for Habitat for Humanity.  Registration is 11:45 and dinner and prizes will be at 6:30 at the Chilliwack Golf and Country Club.  Cost is $125 per golfer or $40 for dinner only and proceeds go to help Habitat for Humanity.  For more information call 607.3970

2008 AAC BC/Yukon Regional Agility Championships Volunteer and Sponsorship Call Out

The 2008 AAC BC/Yukon Regional Agility Championships are being held June 13th, 14th and 15th at Rotary Stadium, Abbotsford Exhibition Park in Abbotsford. Proudly presented by the Matsqui Flyball & Agility Club, this Agility Association of Canada is expecting over 300 entries into the competition and approximately 2000 spectators to attend.
Over the course of this event, they will require approximately 150 volunteers and they are looking for energetic people to assist with many facets of the event this year. Volunteers will be provided free food and refreshments along with a complimentary event t shirt.
They are also looking for sponsors. Sponsors are requested to contribute either supplies or monetary donations to assist qualifying competitors with travel expenses for the 2008 AAC National Championships held in Sussex, NB.

Chilliwack Interchange 2008

The Chilliwack Model Railway Club is sponsoring the Chilliwack Interchange 2008 Convention and Show on June 14th and 15th from 10am to 4pm at Chilliwack Heritage Park.  There will be 60,000 square feet of displays, layouts, vendors and manufacturers, as well as clinics covering a variety of railroad topics and modeling skills. Summer Solstice Golf Challenge

The 5th Annual Summer Solstice Golf Challenge will be Thursday, June 19th, 2008 at the Chilliwack Golf & Country Club. Join in with Leon Gallant, Mike Csoka, Pat McGuire and nine others as they raise money to benefit Chilliwack Community Services' Central Gateway Family Learning Centre.  Golfers will be seeking pledges for the number of holes golfed and will be golfing from dawn to dusk, finishing late into the night having completed a minimum of 72 holes with a few golfers potentially reaching 130 or more.  If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or participating as one of 12 golfers at the event please call 604 847-2233 or go here.

The Greater Vancouver Brain Injury Classic

The Fourth Annual Greater Vancouver Brain Injury Classic is coming up on Wednesday, June 18th at Newlands Golf Course in Langley, BC.  Presented by ICBC Rehabilitation, this event helps support programs and services for the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland Brain Injury Association. 6th Annual Village Car Classic

One of Chilliwack's biggest events of the year is the Village Classic Car Show being held on Sunday, June 22nd from 11am to 4pm. Over 10,000 people fill the streets to view a spectacular showing of classic cars.  This event grows bigger each year and has become a tradition to downtown Chilliwack.

The Arts in Mill Lake Park

The Abbotsford Arts Council presents "The Arts in Mill Lake Park" June 28th, July 12th and July 26th from noon to 4pm (weather permitting).  It takes place on the grounds surrounding Kariton Gallery, 2387 Ware Street in Abbotsford.  The event features visual and performing artists, you could buy some art, catch a concert and see artists at work.  Admission is free.

Harrison Festival of the Arts

The Harrison Festival of the Arts runs July 5-15 throughout the beautiful lakeside village of Harrison Hot Springs.  This year will be the 30th annual Harrison Festival which makes it the longest running event of it's kind in the area and one of the oldest music and arts festivals in Canada.  The Harrison Festival has quietly built a national and international reputation for excellence.  This festival is unique in combining performing arts with the literary arts and theatre as well as visual arts and crafts.  The festival happens at a number of venues and various times and admission is donation by daytime and evening concerts are $16 - $20 for tickets.  For more information about the 2008 Harrison Festival contact them at info@harrisonfestival.com or go here.

Abbotsford Agrifair

Once again, ABBOTSFORD AGRIFAIR is getting ready to entertain the community with a five-day BC150 birthday party, July 31st-August 4th.

BBQ on the Bypass

Well Seasoned, Langley’s gourmet food destination, is pleased to announce their 3rd annual BBQ on the Bypass on Sunday, September 7th, 2008 from 10 am – 5 pm. BOTB is an all-skill-levels-welcome competition that attracts award-winning competitors from all over the Pacific Northwest.
While “BBQ” is a term that many people use to describe anything put on a grill – this is not the case. Southern style BBQ is a technique where the meat is cooked at low temperatures (about 225 F) for a long time over indirect heat. No gas/propane allowed – the heat source is charcoal or wood. Join us this September to see experts slow cook their masterpieces to perfection.

Central Community Church is hosting their Fall Kick Off Carnival on Sunday, September 7th from 11:30 am - 3:00 pm.  This is a free event and includes a BBQ, fun activities, face painting, crafts, a rockwall and more.

Mardi Gras Masquerade

Help unmask epilepsy and help made a difference!

The Center for Epilepsy & Seizure Education in BC provides essential programs and services.  It is just as important for people not to be afraid if they witness a seizure as it is for us to empower them with seizure first aid knowledge.  On September 27th we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary Mardi Gras Masquerade.  This semi-formal event features dinner, entertainment as well as live and silent auctions.  All proceeds from this event go toward our goal of raising $25,000 for support services and education programs.  We are dedicated to delivering programs that provide support, education and information surrounding epilepsy.  Our programs are used by children and families, students, adults living with the disorder, teachers/schools, health care professionals, support workers and law enforcement officers.

Tickets are $42.00 for Dinner and $20.00 for Dance.
