The 2010 Paralympic Torch Relay Comes to Hope

Paralympic Torch Relay Celebration in Memorial Park in Hope, Tuesday March 9th, 2010 from 3 - 6pm. This event will visit only 11 communities in Canada - Hope is one of them! A unique once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate the spark of possibility that inspires us to overcome challenges and pursue our dreams! Beautiful Bones Tea in Support of Osteoporosis

Marion's Dressing Room & Chartwell's Retirement Communities - Hampton House, The Birchwood and The Lynnwood invite you to their Charity Tea on Friday, March 12th from 1-3pm at Evergreen Hall in Chilliwack. Admission is by donation to support Osteoporosis Canada in their quest for "Beautiful Bones" This elegant event will delight you with tea, treats and fashions from days gone by. There will be entertainment, a basket lottery, a light lunch and osteoporosis volunteers on site.

Green Thumb and Shamrock’n Race

On Saturday, March 13th TRY Events wants you to show your St. Patrick’s Day spirit and run in the Green Thumb and Shamrock’n Race at Bateman Park/Stoney Creek Park Trail in Abbotsford. There will be the Green Half Marathon (walk/run) or the Shamrock’n Race 5k & 10k. If the kids want to get involved, they can join in with the Kids Fun Run or Walk.
Zajac Ranch Family Camp
March 12-14
Zajac Ranch in Mission is a therapeutic recreational camp for children and families faced with chronic illnesses and disabilities. They are hosting a mixed medical family camp March 12-14, with an Olympic-themed focus. Participants will be involved in exciting new challenges, such as the high-ropes course and horseback riding relay games. CURLING PARALLELS HOCKEY AS NATIONAL SPORT Curling has lately taken a giant step in becoming Canada's National Sport. We have witnessed the interest during the Olympics with the men winning a gold and the women a silver. The finals drew as big a National/International audience as the hockey finals.
Hope For Haiti Benefit Concert

The Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Center will host a day of entertainment to help support the ongoing relief work in Haiti from 1pm until 10pm on March 20th. Soldiers of Fitness First Annual Spring to Action Event

Soldiers of Fitness (SOF) is raising money for the Chilliwack General Hospital with the SOF first annual spring to action event. Sign in starts at 8:30am on March 21st. The first group of runners will be going out at 10am. The cost to register is $25.00 for individuals, $100 for teams of 4 or more, $50 for families and for a child-pledges that they collect.
