NAIOP, an international organization of commercial and real estate developers, has given the City of Chilliwack an award for most business friendly city in the lower mainland.
Councilor Jason Lum accepted the award on behalf of the city this week, and says one big thing that businesses like about the City is the processing times for paperwork.
“Chilliwack is consistently ranked very well when it comes to the amount of time it takes to process new applications and permits. Time is money for businesses, and they like the fact that we can get on and process those applications in a timely fashion.”
Lum says another appealing aspect is the low business tax compared to other communities.
He says all these things help attract business development to the City, which in turn means more jobs.
